Hanyang University Signs Industry-Academic Cooperation MOU with MS
Strengthening Collaboration for Fostering Talents in Advanced Fields
Hanyang University announced on the 17th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Microsoft Korea for "Fostering Future Talents in Advanced Fields through Innovative Convergence and Global Industry-Academia Cooperation" at the Prime Conference Hall in the main building of the ERICA campus.

View original imageThis agreement was established on the 14th to cultivate talents with global competitiveness in advanced digital fields such as AI, cloud, and cybersecurity. Through this, both institutions plan to promote various educational and research collaborations, including the Innovative Convergence University project in data security and utilization fields (cloud, blockchain, personal information protection, etc.).
According to the agreement, both parties agreed to jointly pursue ▲ establishment of a cooperative system for industry-academia-research joint research and policy projects ▲ talent cultivation through the Innovative Convergence University project in advanced fields ▲ development and operation of IT and software education programs ▲ construction of education and research platforms based on AI and digital transformation ▲ joint promotion of employment, startup support, and global R&D cooperation projects.
Yoo Hyun-kyung, Vice President of Microsoft Korea, stated, “The agreement with Hanyang University, which leads the regional-industry-academia-research cooperation cluster, is an important stepping stone for global industry-academia cooperation and fostering advanced talents,” adding, “We will further strengthen education and research cooperation in future technology fields.”

The Innovative Convergence University project team at Hanyang University ERICA plans to further strengthen the curriculum in the convergence field of data security and utilization through this agreement and support students to complete advanced field curricula and extracurricular courses regardless of their major.
In particular, the ERICA project team was selected in 2024 as a new consortium involving local governments and major domestic universities, including Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, contributing to advanced technology education and regional talent development.
