On the 15th (local time), he posted on his social media (SNS), "I underwent emergency surgery on my hand. Thankfully, I am getting better." He also uploaded a photo lying in a hospital bed with his left hand bandaged. There was a tube supplying oxygen to his nose. It is known to be a hospital in the Tampa area of Florida, where he lives. Daly did not explain the reason for the urgent surgery. He pledged, "I will be back on the field soon." He had also recently shared news that he lost his home due to a hurricane.

Daly has won a total of five times on the PGA Tour, including two major championships: the PGA Championship and The Open. He was the first on the PGA Tour to surpass an average driver shot distance of 300 yards, gaining great popularity for his long drives and aggressive play.

However, he has lived a tumultuous life, earning the nickname ‘maverick,’ and due to his rough behavior and lack of manners, he is also called a ‘bad boy.’ Another nickname is ‘the drinker.’ He loved alcohol so much that he even underwent treatment for alcoholism. Daly participates annually in the family golf competition, the PNC Championship, with his son. After moving to the PGA Tour Champions (Senior Tour), he attracted attention with his flashy patterns and brightly colored unique golf outfits.
