The city will have 718 public officials assigned to eight task forces, including disaster and accident response, medical and food poisoning, sanitation and environment, livestock quarantine, transportation, fire safety, and water supply, working shifts during the holiday period.
Additionally, to ensure a stable supply of essential goods and prevent citizen inconvenience due to unreasonable price hikes, the city will implement measures to stabilize holiday prices. The city will operate a price stabilization situation room in cooperation with district offices and organize joint inspection teams to curb price increases, focusing on items that require special management.
To prevent gaps in emergency medical care, emergency medical situation rooms and quarantine situation rooms will be operated. In addition, to ensure smooth treatment of respiratory infections such as influenza, five fever clinics and nine partner hospitals will be in operation.
For the convenience of returning visitors and citizens, the city will minimize service reductions on six major bus routes to destinations such as Daejeon National Cemetery and Daejeon Memorial Park. The car-free day program for participating vehicles will be suspended from the 27th to the 31st.
From the 18th to the 30th, temporary parking will be allowed on roads around traditional markets, and from the 25th to the 30th, public parking lots operated by the city will be open free of charge.
Lee Jangwoo, Mayor of Daejeon, said, "We will do our utmost to implement comprehensive measures, including protection of vulnerable groups, price stabilization, and safety inspections, to ensure that citizens experience no inconvenience during the Lunar New Year holiday."
