Payment Deadline is Until the 31st
Damyang County, South Jeolla Province (Governor Lee Byungno), announced on the 15th that it has imposed 11,091 cases of regular registration license tax for 2025, amounting to 136.11 million KRW.
The registration license tax is imposed annually as of January 1st on individuals who have obtained various licenses, permits, approvals, notifications, or registrations.
The payment period for the registration license tax (license portion) is from the 16th to the 31st (16 days), and the amount varies by license type, ranging from a minimum of 4,500 KRW to a maximum of 27,000 KRW.
Payments can be made in person at any financial institution nationwide. Alternatively, taxpayers can conveniently pay using the virtual account, local tax account, credit card, Wetax, Giro, or other methods indicated on the notice without visiting a financial institution.
An official from the county stated, "Even if you obtained a license and paid the occasional registration license tax in December last year, you must separately pay the regular tax imposed as of January 1st this year," and added, "If payment is overdue, an additional charge of 3% of the tax amount will be imposed, so we urge you to pay within the deadline."
