Damyang County Launches 'Donation Walking Challenge'

View original imageDamyang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Byungno) announced on the 15th that it will launch a "Donation Walking Challenge" for all residents to celebrate the New Year.
Under the theme "Making the World Valuable through Donation," this challenge aims to help children grow up healthy and pursue their dreams, with a collective goal of 100 million steps over 30 days from the 22nd of this month to the 20th of next month.
To register for participation, from the 17th to the 21st, install the "WalkOn" app from the smartphone Play Store or App Store, sign up as a member, search for Damyang-gun in the community section, and select the official Damyang-gun walking community.
After achieving the collective step goal, donated items will be delivered to children and youth at local children's centers.
An official from the county said, "We will continue to run walking challenges on various themes to not only improve the health of our residents, but also foster a warm community atmosphere by sharing with local citizens."
Meanwhile, Damyang-gun established and has been operating the mobile walking app WalkOn community since 2021. Last year, it held six walking challenges on various everyday themes, attracting 5,526 residents and receiving enthusiastic participation.
