Professor Byun Jaeyoung of Chosun University Receives Minister of Education Award for Bridging the Digital Education Gap
Contribution to the Advancement of AI and Software Education
Professor Byun Jaeyoung, Director of the AI·SW Education Center at Chosun University (President Kim Chunseong), has received the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Award.
Chosun University announced on the 15th that at the recently held ‘3rd Digital Saessak Conference,’ Professor Byun Jaeyoung was recognized for his contributions to narrowing the digital education gap in the Honam and Jeju regions and advancing AI·SW education, earning the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Award for the second consecutive year.
Since 2023, Professor Byun, together with 87G9 Co., Ltd. and Witches Co., Ltd., has been running the ‘Chosun DongGoDongRak Digital Saessak’ program. In addition, starting in 2024, he is leading the SW-Centered University Project Group, which will receive 13.2 billion KRW in funding over six years, to foster AI·SW professionals who drive regional innovation, promote borderless AI·SW convergence education, and expand AI·SW throughout the local community.
Professor Byun stated, "I will continue to do my best to foster AI·SW education, industry-academia-research collaboration, and AI convergence talent within the university for the local community."
