Gangbuk-gu Issues 17.5 Billion Won Worth of Gangbuk Love Gift Certificates for Lunar New Year
Gangbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) announced on the 14th that it will issue Gangbuk Love Gift Certificates worth 17.5 billion KRW to promote local consumption and increase sales for small business owners ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
The Gangbuk Love Gift Certificates will be available for purchase starting at 12 PM on the 15th, with a 5% discount offered. Purchases are limited to 500,000 KRW per month, with a holding limit of 1.5 million KRW. Refunds of the remaining balance are possible if more than 60% is used. The purchase and payment of the Gangbuk Love Gift Certificates can be made through the ‘Seoul Pay+’ app.
There are a total of 6,842 locations within Gangbuk-gu where the certificates can be used, including marts, beauty salons, clothing stores, hospitals, fitness facilities, restaurants, information and communication businesses, and academies. However, usage is restricted at large-scale stores such as large marts, department stores, outlets, as well as convenience stores, restaurants, and movie theaters operated directly by large corporations and mid-sized companies. The district plans to issue a total of 30 billion KRW worth of Gangbuk Love Gift Certificates this year.
