Twelve members of the Korean University Students Progressive Union (Daejin-yeon) who staged a surprise protest in front of the U.S. Embassy in Korea were detained by the police.
On the 10th, around 12:20 PM, the Jongno Police Station in Seoul announced that they had arrested 12 Daejin-yeon members on the spot for violating the Assembly and Demonstration Act.
On that day, Daejin-yeon held a surprise protest in front of the U.S. Embassy in Jongno-gu, Seoul, shouting, "The U.S., which supported Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, must apologize, and retract and apologize for treating Lee Jae-myung as a criminal."

A police official stated, "Some of the 12 suspects arrested on the spot are under investigation," adding, "We cannot disclose specific charges or the progress of the investigation."
