Incheon Police Agency Offers Up to 1 Million KRW Reward for Preventing Crime Through 112 Reports
The Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 10th that it will start awarding cash prizes this year to 112 callers who contribute to preventing crimes or protecting the lives, bodies, and property of others.
This reward system was established in accordance with the "Act on the Operation and Handling of 112 Reports," which has been in effect since July of last year.
Not only the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency but all city and provincial police agencies nationwide will implement this system. The decision on whether to award a prize will be made by the Compensation Review Committee established at each police station. They plan to evaluate the merit or contribution of the caller and provide a cash prize of up to 1 million won or award a certificate of appreciation.
The Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency expects this reward system to activate 112 reporting and create a social atmosphere where citizens collectively prevent crime.
