Gangseo-gu to Hold 'Seol Holiday Direct Market' at Magok Square on 16th-17th
13 Local Governments Including Imsil-gun and 41 Farms Participate
Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon) will operate the 'Seolnal Direct Market' for two days starting from the 16th of this month. The direct market, held annually before the holiday, is an event where local governments partnered with Gangseo-gu come together to sell high-quality agricultural and specialty products.
It provides farmers with sales channels and eliminates intermediate distribution processes, allowing residents to purchase high-quality agricultural products at more affordable prices, receiving positive responses from both farmers and residents.
The market will be held on the 16th and 17th of this month from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Magok Square Ground (Exits 2 and 5 of Magoknaru Station). This year, 13 local governments including Imsil-gun, Sangju-si, Taean-gun, Gangneung-si, Yeosu-si, Haman-gun, Suncheon-si, Jeongeup-si, Goesan-gun, Wanju-gun, Pyeongchang-si, Cheongyang-gun, and Nonsan-si, along with 41 farms, will participate to showcase a variety of agricultural specialty products.
Visitors can find holiday ritual items such as fruits, wild greens, and traditional Korean sweets (Hangwa) produced directly in each region, as well as popular local specialties like cheese, Korean beef (Hanwoo), dried persimmons (Gotgam), and mustard leaf kimchi (Gatkimchi) at reasonable prices. Additionally, local foods grown in Gangseo-gu, including Gyeongbokgung rice?the only rice brand in Seoul?and Naru Saeng Makgeolli made from that rice, will also be available for purchase.
