Director Park Jong-jun of the Security Office Appoints Lawyer... Possible Police Appearance
Park Jong-jun, the head of the Presidential Security Service who led the effort to prevent the arrest of President Yoon Seok-yeol, is reported to have appointed a lawyer in preparation for the investigation.
According to the police on the 9th, Park submitted a notice of lawyer appointment to the National Police Agency's Criminal Investigation Headquarters ahead of the third summons scheduled for the 10th.
As a result, there is speculation that Park may either comply with the third summons or attempt to reschedule the investigation through his lawyer. However, a police official stated, "Park has not expressed an intention to appear on the 10th."
Initially, the police reportedly anticipated that Park would likely refuse the third summons as well, keeping the possibility of forced investigation measures such as applying for an arrest warrant open.
