That day, Kim began by saying, "I wanted to share some warm news with fans who are going through a cold and painful winter, so I am greeting you after a long time."
He said, "I heard from an acquaintance that the vehicles at Gwangju Yeongsinwon are aging and causing difficulties. Originally, I planned to give the car as a gift to my father-in-law and mother-in-law, but they strongly encouraged me to donate it to Yeongsinwon, saying it would be a more valuable gift. So, I delivered the brand-new vehicle just released." He added, "It is a small gift, but I hope this vehicle becomes a reliable means of transportation for the friends at Yeongsinwon."
Last year, Kim Sun-bin played brilliantly in the five games of the Korean Series against the Samsung Lions, recording a batting average of 0.588 (10 hits in 17 at-bats), leading his team to victory and earning the MVP title.
Kim was selected as MVP by receiving 46 out of 99 votes from the press corps, narrowly beating his teammate catcher Kim Tae-gun, who received 45 votes. As a prize, he received a trophy and a KIA EV6. At that time, he said, "The reason I was able to perform well this season was thanks to my father-in-law and mother-in-law who supported me in every way during the off-season," and added, "I have not yet received the EV6 I won as a prize, but I plan to give it to my father-in-law as a gift."
Meanwhile, through the post he made that day, Kim Sun-bin paid tribute to the KIA Tigers personnel who lost their lives in the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster, saying, "Once again, I pray for the souls of my brother’s family and all the victims who unexpectedly left us."
