Korea Forest Service Expands Supply and Discount Events for Lunar New Year Seasonal Forest Products
The Korea Forest Service will expand the supply of forest products used as Lunar New Year seasonal items and conduct discount events through special promotions.
On the 9th, the Korea Forest Service announced that in preparation for the increased demand for forest products during the Lunar New Year holiday, the supply of chestnuts will be increased fivefold and jujubes 21-fold compared to normal times.
Additionally, the 'Lunar New Year Forest Products Supply Stabilization Task Force' will operate to monitor daily price trends and supply conditions of forest products.
In particular, an online sales promotion will be held until the 26th of this month, allowing customers to purchase forest products at discounts of up to 40%.
The online sales will be conducted mainly through gift sets of shiitake mushrooms, dried persimmons, bracken, and wild ginseng on 'Pureun Jangteo,' a forest product specialty shopping mall operated by the Korea Federation of Forest Cooperatives. Discount benefits are also available through forest product brand stores on Naver Shopping and Korea Post Shopping.
Discount events will also be held at general large supermarkets. At these supermarkets, chestnuts, jujubes, and other items will be sold at discounts of up to 40%. Furthermore, consumers will be able to purchase various forest products at more affordable prices at forest product sales outlets operated by the Korea Federation of Forest Cooperatives and 12 other forest cooperatives nationwide.
The forest product sales outlets of the forest cooperatives are distributed across 12 regions including Seoul, Gapyeong, Yangju, Ganghwa, Wonju, Cheorwon, Jeongseon, Samcheok, Gongju, Muju, Namwon, and Gochang.
