Lee Beomwoo, Director of the Climate and Air Division at the Environment and Forest Bureau of Jeonnam Provincial Government, has taken office as the 32nd Deputy Governor of Wando-gun, expressing his commitment to advancing the marine healing industry and addressing key issues in Wando-gun.
According to Wando-gun on the 9th, the newly appointed Deputy Governor Lee Beomwoo began his public service career in 1992 in the Industrial Department of the Regional Economy Bureau at Jeonnam Provincial Government, and has worked in various fields including fostering strategic industries in the Jeonnam region and promoting the distribution of renewable energy.
In particular, he contributed to developing Jeonnam as a leading region in carbon neutrality, and during the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, he hosted an international forum to discuss blue carbon development strategies and international cooperation measures to address climate change.
Wando-gun expects that Deputy Governor Lee's extensive experience will bring significant achievements in seaweed blue carbon certification and the advancement of the seaweed industry.
Deputy Governor Lee omitted the inauguration ceremony in observance of the mourning period for the victims of the Jeju Air passenger plane accident, and began his official duties on the 2nd by attending the opening ceremony and visiting various departments.
He stated, "I will do my utmost to serve as a bridge between the government and Jeonnam Province so that the marine healing industry, which will drive Wando's development, can further grow and key projects can be carried out without setbacks."
