Emart Continues 'Dramatic Price Cuts' in the New Year... Expands Grocery and Daily Necessities Items
Core Food Items Expanded from 3 to 5 Types
Daily Necessities Increased from 40 to 50 Types
January Discounts on Green Onions, So Bulgogi, and Gopchang Gim
Emart announced on the 9th that it will hold a January price-slashing event for about 20 days from the 10th to the 30th, including five core grocery items and 50 daily necessities.
Emart's 'Price-Slashing Declaration' was a monthly discount event held last year, focusing on carefully selecting three major grocery items and 40 daily necessities each month and selling them at the lowest possible prices.
Emart is expanding its representative grocery items for the new year from three to five and increasing daily necessities from 40 to 50 items.
The January price-slashing event will focus on ▲green onions priced in the 2,000 won range ▲seasoned beef bulgogi ▲gopchang dolgim (gopchang seaweed) ▲dumplings ▲meatballs to stabilize food prices. 'Farmers Pick Soil Green Onions' will be offered at 2,480 won per bag, 17% cheaper than the regular price. To achieve this, Emart's vegetable buyers have been conducting pre-contract cultivation with farms in the main winter green onion production areas of Yeonggwang, Imjado, and Sinan since November last year, while reducing costs through packaging work at Emart Fresh Center.
'Imjado Green Onion Beef Bulgogi' will be sold at 11,980 won per 800g pack, a 30% discount from the regular price. This product secures 170 tons of Australian beef bulgogi and is completed by pairing it with Imjado green onions, which grow under sea breezes and have a rich sweetness and aroma.
The premium seaweed 'Gwangcheon Gopchang Dolgim (20 packs),' used as a gift, will be sold at 6,980 won, 30% cheaper than the regular price. The raw material for making gopchang seaweed is premium seaweed harvested only for about 30 days around the start of winter (Ipdong) each year.
Considering the Lunar New Year in January, frozen dumplings and meatballs, which can be used as festive food offerings, were also selected as five major grocery items. 'The Meats’ Juicy Meat Dumplings and Kimchi Dumplings (530g)' will be sold at 4,980 won per pack. 'CJ Bibigo Egg-Coated Meatballs (480g)' will be sold at 6,980 won with a 30% discount, and 'Dongwon Premium Seafood Meatballs (795g)' will be sold at 7,980 won with a 20% discount.
Fifty processed foods and daily necessities will also be sold at the lowest prices throughout the month. 'Dongwon Whole Grill Vienna Sausages (300g×2)' will be sold at 7,970 won during the event, and 'CJ Dadam Soft Tofu Stew Seasoning (140g)' will be sold at 1,080 won. Other special offers include ▲CJ Hetbahn (210g×12 packs) for 13,470 won ▲Ottogi Jin Ramen Spicy (120g×5) for 3,220 won ▲Pril Baking Soda Kitchen Detergent Pure Lemon (1ℓ) for 3,900 won.
Emart Everyday will also sell 18 of the 50 daily necessities from the Price-Slashing Declaration at the same prices as Emart. Representative items include 'CJ Bibigo King Dumplings (350g×3)' and 'CJ Gourmet Crispy Hot Dog (400g),' sold for 9,970 won and 6,880 won respectively.
