Lee Jae-tae, Jeonnam Provincial Council Member: "Naju Public Library Open on Weekends and Holidays"
Four Operations Staff and Two Building Managers Assigned
The South Jeolla Provincial Council announced on the 8th that Councilor Lee Jaetae (Democratic Party of Korea, Naju 3) has secured a budget for "Library Operations Staff and Building Maintenance Staff for Weekend Operations at Naju Public Library" as a new project for 2025.
Accordingly, starting from the 5th, Naju Public Library began weekend operations, including Saturdays and Sundays, which were previously closed days. Four library operations staff and two building maintenance staff have been deployed, allowing the Children's Reading Room, General Reading Room, and Study Room to be used on weekends as well.
Lee Jaetae stated, "Expanding library access will greatly contribute to providing cultural facilities for local residents and revitalizing reading and humanities education programs. We collected feedback from residents who opposed Sunday closures and, after discussions with the South Jeolla Provincial Office of Education and Naju Public Library, secured the necessary budget. We will do our best to reflect the opinions of students and local residents to ensure there is no inconvenience in using the library."
