Chosun University Launches 'RISE Promotion Team' for Regional University Support

Chosun University (President Kim Chunseong) announced on the 8th that it recently assessed its university innovation capacity and held a launching ceremony for the 'RISE Promotion Team' in preparation for the Ministry of Education's RISE (Regional Innovation System & Education) project.

At the launching ceremony, all university executives and deans of each college gathered to evaluate Chosun University's innovation capacity in relation to the nine major industries of Gwangju City and discussed future directions for promoting RISE.

Chosun University appointed Vice President Jeon Jeyeol as the head of the RISE Promotion Team and Kim Yongjae, head of the Industry-Academia Cooperation Group, as the deputy head. They plan to establish strategies for creating a residential-type regional development ecosystem, including innovative growth of the region and industry, and revitalization of industry-academia-research cooperation.

RISE (Regional Innovation System & Education) is a system that supports universities to play a central role in regional innovation, aiming for mutual growth between the region and universities. The Ministry of Education delegates administrative and financial authority over universities to local governments, and the local governments, in turn, build cooperative partnerships with universities to provide support linked to regional development strategies.

President Kim Chunseong stated, "We will unite the capabilities of our university members so that the university and the local community can work together to address various issues and achieve mutual growth."
