Parrot NPC is Out... Krafton and Nvidia Unveil 'CPC' for the First Time at CES
Krafton and NVIDIA Joint Development
Applied to PUBG IP and New Titles
On the 7th, Krafton announced that it unveiled the AI (Artificial Intelligence) innovative technology CPC (Co-Playable Character) for the first time together with NVIDIA at CES 2025, the world's largest electronics and IT exhibition held in Las Vegas, USA.
CPC is a new concept character based on an on-device small language model (On-device SLM for Gaming) specialized for games, built with NVIDIA ACE technology.
Unlike existing NPCs (Non-Player Characters), it features the ability to converse and cooperate with users, perceive situations like a human, and respond flexibly. Krafton plans to expand the application of CPC to various games including the PUBG IP (Intellectual Property) franchise and inZOI, leading changes in user experience.
Since establishing the Deep Learning Division in 2022, Krafton has developed various core AI technologies such as natural language processing (LM·NLP), vision & animation (3D Vision & Animation), speech recognition and generation technologies (STT·TTS), reinforcement learning (RL), and multi-modal models. It has also proven its research competitiveness by publishing numerous papers at world-renowned AI conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, and ICLR.
