Kimjeon Foundation Donates 50 Million KRW Scholarship to Dong-A University Department of Materials Science and Engineering

Dong-A University (President Lee Hae-woo) announced on the 6th that the Kimjeon Foundation recently donated 50 million KRW in scholarships to the Department of New Materials Engineering.

On the 2nd, a scholarship donation ceremony was held at the President's Office in the University Headquarters of Dong-A University’s Seunghak Campus, attended by President Lee Hae-woo, Director Park Hyun-tae of the Office of External and International Affairs, Department Head Kang Shin-gon of the Department of New Materials Engineering, Chairperson Jeong Ok-gang of the Kimjeon Foundation, and CEO Kim Tae-hyung of Korea Cast Iron Pipe Industry Co., Ltd.

The Kimjeon Foundation is a scholarship foundation established in 1976 following the will of the founder of Korea Cast Iron Pipe Industry Co., Ltd. Through the foundation, it supports the development of eco-friendly and water supply and sewage sectors and carries out scholarship activities to fulfill its social responsibilities. In 2014, Kimjeon also donated 150 million KRW in research funds to Dong-A University’s Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation.

Chairperson Jeong Ok-gang said, “We made this donation to fulfill the company’s social responsibility and to contribute to the development of new materials engineering,” adding, “We hope it will help industry-academia cooperation and education.”
