Personal Information Leak of 90,000 People
Approximately 90,000 customers' personal information was leaked due to a hacking attack targeting the GS Retail website.
According to GS Retail on the 6th, a hacking attack on the website occurred between the 27th of last month and the 4th of this month. As of the 6th, personal information of about 90,000 customers has been leaked due to this hacking attack. The leaked personal information is estimated to include seven items: name, gender, date of birth, contact number, address, ID, and email.
The hacking method confirmed this time is 'Credential Stuffing,' which involves randomly inputting collected account and password information from various sources to log in and steal personal information.
After recognizing the incident, GS Retail blocked the IPs attempting the hacking and locked customer accounts to prevent login. Additionally, pages displaying personal information were temporarily closed, and individual text messages notifying the hacking incident were sent to customers who are expected to have been affected.
GS Retail urged customers to immediately change their passwords and report any suspicious phone calls or emails suspected of abusing personal information to prevent secondary damage.
