Senior Reporter Ryushiro Kodaira of Japan Nikkei Newspaper Presents Topic
The Korea Corporate Governance Forum announced that it will hold the 39th seminar on the 7th at 3 p.m. at the Federation of Korean Industries Conference Center in Yeouido, Seoul, under the theme "Trends in Japanese Governance Reform and Prospects for 2025, and Implications for Korea."
At this seminar, Shiro Kodaira, senior reporter at Japan's Nikkei Newspaper, will deliver the keynote presentation. In the subsequent panel discussion, panelists will include Woojin Kim, professor at Seoul National University Business School; Hyoseop Lee, head of the Financial Research Division at the Korea Capital Market Institute; Hyungkyun Kim, head of the department at Cha Partners Asset Management; and Junhee Lee, attorney at Japan's TMI Associates.
The forum stated, "It has been about seven months since our financial authorities finalized the value-up policy guidelines, aiming to benchmark governance reforms in neighboring Japan. While the introduction of the value-up system initially attracted significant interest and expectations not only from domestic investors but also from foreign institutional investors investing in global stock markets, the results at this point after seven months are disappointing."
