The three official organizations of May 18 (the Bereaved Families Association, the Meritorious Persons Association, and the Injured Persons Association) and the May 18 Memorial Foundation issued a press release on the 6th, stating, "We denounce President Yoon's repeated insurrectionary behavior and his shameless and irresponsible conduct."
The organizations said, "It has been clearly revealed through the testimonies of accomplices in the insurrection that President Yoon committed an ultra-constitutional atrocity by threatening the people with more than 50,000 live rounds," and added, "This is a clear act of insurrection that destroys constitutional order, threatens the people, and tramples on democracy."
They continued, "Nevertheless, he continues to completely ignore reflection and responsibility, and is even suspected of using his security personnel like private soldiers," emphasizing, "There are even claims that he ordered live fire if security personnel were overpowered in physical altercations, showing a cowardly image of hiding in the official residence like a chicken being chased."
Furthermore, "The Presidential Security Service is engaging in serious illegal acts that obstruct law enforcement, such as installing barbed wire to impede investigations," and added, "The police, who have been delegated the execution of the arrest warrant by the CIO, must not further yield to the illegal obstruction by the Security Service. President Yoon must also respond to the judgment of law and justice with the mindset of saving the nation from chaos, and contribute to the restoration of democracy and constitutional order."
