Seocho-gu Appoints Violinist 'Danny Gu' as Public Relations Ambassador
Seocho-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) announced on the 6th that world-renowned violinist ‘Danny Gu’ has been appointed as Seocho-gu’s first public ambassador.
On the 3rd, Seocho-gu held an appointment ceremony at the Seocho-gu Office attended by Mayor Jeon Seong-su, Danny Gu, and representatives from his agency, Credia Music & Artist Co., Ltd., including Director Lee Kang-won. The ceremony included the presentation of the appointment plaque and commemorative photos.

View original imageDanny Gu is an artist with a diverse musical spectrum, including classical, chamber music, jazz, and pop, and is currently one of the most prominent violinists.
The appointment as public ambassador was based on the evaluation that Danny Gu’s sophisticated musicality, friendly image, and his way of communicating with people through music align well with the cultural and artistic values Seocho-gu aims to promote, according to a district official.
At the ceremony, Danny Gu expressed, “I am honored to serve as the first public ambassador of Seocho-gu, where culture and arts breathe life,” adding, “I want to share the unique charm and beauty of Seocho with many people and create special moments of communication with the residents.”
Going forward, Danny Gu will participate in major events and festivals such as Seocho-gu promotional videos and the Seoripul Festival to widely promote the charm of Seocho. First, a New Year greeting video for residents will be broadcast on Seocho-gu’s official YouTube channel and social media (SNS), and on the 17th of this month, he plans to deliver a splendid performance at the ‘Seoripul Gala Concert’ for the residents.
Meanwhile, the district is developing the Banpo-daero section, which stretches from Umyeonsan to the Han River, into the ‘Seocho Cultural Belt’ featuring five themed colors by utilizing the rich cultural and artistic infrastructure in the area, including the Seoul Arts Center, National Gugak Center, and Seoripul Instrument Street. Additionally, since 2023, Seocho-gu has been holding distinctive seasonal and themed festivals throughout the year to enable all residents to easily enjoy cultural life, striving to create a ‘high-quality cultural and artistic city.’
