View original imageThe Gwangju Agricultural Technology Center announced on the 3rd that it will provide free rentals of branch shredders at the Agricultural Machinery Rental Office until March.
The rental of branch shredders has been promoted to reduce fine dust in the agricultural sector caused by the burning of agricultural by-products and to prevent wildfires. Additionally, the shredded by-products can be used as compost, increasing the organic matter content in the soil, thereby achieving multiple benefits at once.
This year, a total of 14 branch shredders of 2 types will be available for rent. Agricultural organizations such as crop groups or village representatives can apply according to their desired schedule and use the equipment for 1 to 2 days at the village level.
Kim Sira, director of the Gwangju Agricultural Technology Center, said, "By shredding agricultural by-products and recycling them as eco-friendly compost or mulching materials, we can help improve soil conditions and protect the environment." She also emphasized, "Since there is a risk of safety accidents when using shredders, please strictly follow safety guidelines and wear personal protective equipment."
