Guri City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyunghyun) held the 2025 New Year's Meeting for the Year of the Snake at Guri City Gymnasium on January 3, pledging a stronger leap forward to build a "Joyful Change, Happier Guri City."

View original imageThis New Year's Meeting was attended by more than 500 people, including Baek Kyunghyun, mayor of Guri; Shin Donghwa, chairman of the Guri City Council; Yoon Hojoong, National Assembly member; city and provincial council members; heads of institutions and organizations; and key figures from various sectors, as well as citizens.
In his New Year's address, Mayor Baek Kyunghyun emphasized, "In line with the six major directions for city administration that will pioneer and be responsible for Guri's happy future over the next 100 years, we will lay the foundation for a self-sufficient city and do our utmost to make Guri a happier and more livable city for its 190,000 citizens by expanding and establishing new railway lines and strengthening the metropolitan transportation network in the Seoul Capital Area."
He also stated, "I hope that, inheriting the spirit of the Blue Snake, the doors to new growth and innovation in Guri will open wide, and I will devote myself with the mindset of 'Shinjongyeosi' (being as careful at the end as at the beginning)."
