On the morning of the 2nd, Yeongju City in Gyeongbuk Province pledged a vigorous leap forward into the new year of 2025, Eulsa year, beginning with a visit to the Chung Hon Tower and a New Year's ceremony.

View original imageAt 8:30 a.m. that day, Mayor Park Nam-seo, National Assembly member Lim Jong-deuk, Yeongju City Council Chairman Kim Byung-gi, city council members, provincial council member Lim Byung-ha, veterans organization officials, and senior city officials started the new year schedule by paying respects at the Chung Hon Tower.
The memorial service was held in a solemn and reverent atmosphere, praying for the repose of the spirits who sacrificed their lives for the country, the development of Yeongju City, and the well-being of its citizens.
Then, at 9:30 a.m., a New Year's ceremony was held in the city hall auditorium with about 200 affiliated public officials attending. Considering the national mourning period, the ceremony was conducted in a calm atmosphere without a pre-ceremony performance. During the ceremony, Mayor Park Nam-seo expressed his gratitude to the public officials who did their best in their respective positions over the past year.

Mayor Park said, “I hope the new year will be a hopeful year in which everyone's wishes come true,” and urged, “Please remember the spirit of ‘Bulyeoinhwa (不如人和),’ meaning that harmony among people is better than anything else, and do your best with a new determination for the development of Yeongju.”
