Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 31st that joint memorial altars were set up at Pyeongnae-Hopyeong Station and Dasan Station plazas to mourn the victims of the passenger plane accident that occurred on the 29th.

View original imageThe city prepared the memorial spaces to mourn the tragic loss of the accident victims and to facilitate citizens' condolences.
Mayor Joo Gwang-deok visited the memorial altar at Pyeongnae-Hopyeong Station in the afternoon of the same day to pay tribute to the victims with flower offerings and a moment of silence.
Mayor Joo said, “I pray for the souls of the victims who lost their lives in the passenger plane accident and extend my deepest condolences to the bereaved families going through this difficult time.”
He added, “Through the operation of the joint memorial altars, I hope to comfort the spirits of the victims and offer some solace to the bereaved families.”
The memorial altars will be open until January 4 of next year, the national mourning period.
Operating hours are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends and public holidays for condolences.
