Silla University Alumni Association Hosts 'A New 100-Year Promise! Night of Sillains'
Shilla University (President Heo Nam-sik), celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, successfully held the ‘Night of Shillains’ event to mark the beginning of a new century.
On December 27, the Shilla University Alumni Association hosted the ‘Night of Shillains,’ an alumni event to commemorate the university’s 70th anniversary and to look forward to the next 100 years, at Lotte Hotel Busan.

View original imageThe event was attended by over 500 alumni, former presidents of the alumni association, Shilla University President Heo Nam-sik and university officials, Jo Byung-gil, Mayor of Sasang District, Shin Sang-hae, former Chairman of Busan City Council, Seo Eun-sook, former Director of Busanjin District Office, Lee Byung-hak, Chief of Yeonje Police Station, Kim Tae-hyo, member of Busan City Council, Kim Chung-seok, the inaugural president of Shilla University’s CEO program first class, former presidents, and other alumni.
The program included △Opening Remarks △Introduction of Guests △Congratulatory Speeches and Messages △Introduction of the Alumni Association △Scholarship Award Ceremony △Celebration Ceremony △Poetry Recitation by Kang Jeong-hwa, Vice Director of the Korean Writers’ Association △Celebratory Performances △Recreation △Lucky Draw △Closing Remarks.
The Shilla University Alumni Association operates a scholarship foundation and awards scholarships annually to selected students. At this event, scholarships were awarded to 15 students, including Cha Kwon-ryul from the Department of Mathematics Education, Kang Dong-ri from the Department of Social Welfare, Do Won-hyuk from the Department of Convergence Mechanical Engineering, Han Yoo-jung from the Department of Health Administration, Lee So-ye from the Department of Japanese Education, Lim Sang-min from the Department of Social Welfare, and Park Jung-min, a Dance major.
The second part of the event featured celebratory performances and recreational activities, fostering a warm and harmonious atmosphere that strengthened alumni unity.
President Heo Nam-sik of Shilla University said, “Today’s event is a wonderful opportunity for seniors and juniors who haven’t seen each other often to come together and unite with pride as Shilla University alumni and love for their alma mater. I would like to express my gratitude to all alumni who have supported our university’s development as we celebrate our 70th anniversary this year, and I ask for your continued support and interest so that Shilla University can take another step forward as a sustainable university.”
