Yeongdeok-gun Promotes Transportation Connectivity in Line with Donghae Line Train Opening
Opening on January 1, 2025
Bus Route Adjustment Plan
Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, plans to adjust bus routes for effective transportation connectivity following the opening of the Donghae Line railway on January 1, 2025.
The Donghae Line railway connects Busan Bujeon Station and Daegu Dongdaegu Station, passing through Pohang, Yeongdeok, Uljin, Samcheok, Donghae, and Gangneung. It operates 8 one-way trips daily, including 5 ITX-Maeum trains and 3 Nuriro trains.
This Donghae Line railway is expected to provide convenient transportation linking major cities in Yeongnam with coastal areas of Gyeongbuk and Gangwon, positively impacting the local economy and tourism industry.
Accordingly, Yeongdeok-gun plans to adjust some rural bus routes to efficiently connect with the Donghae Line railway and is working to advance the adjustment schedule to enhance convenience for railway passengers.
Additionally, due to the suspension of the Donghae Line train service between Yeongdeok and Pohang on December 18 last year, the Donghae Line replacement buses that had been operating will cease service on December 31.
