Jeju Air Disaster Seoul City Memorial Altar Operation Begins
Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon and other Seoul city officials visited the memorial altar set up in front of the main entrance of Seoul City Hall to pay their respects to the victims of the Jeju Air passenger plane accident.

View original imageOn the morning of the 31st at 8 a.m., Mayor Oh visited the altar, offered flowers, and held a moment of silence to honor the victims. Mayor Oh said, "We have set up this memorial altar so that we can express our condolences. I hope many citizens will join together to pray for the repose of the deceased and convey deep condolences to the bereaved families."
The city plans to operate the memorial altar for five days until January 4 of next year to allow citizens to pay their respects. The operating hours are from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Meanwhile, Seoul City will mourn the Jeju Air passenger plane tragedy by scaling down year-end and New Year events, including the ringing of the Bosingak bell on New Year's Eve. The bell-ringing event scheduled from 11 p.m. on the day to 1 a.m. on January 1 in the Bosingak area of Jongno-gu, Seoul, will cancel performances and other activities, focusing on a solemn bell-ringing ceremony.
