On the 30th, the POSCO Labor Union announced that it held a ceremony for the delivery of Gwangyang local love gift certificates at Gwangyang City Hall, attended by Jeong In-hwa, Mayor of Gwangyang, Kim Seong-ho, Chairman of the POSCO Labor Union, and Kim Dong-hee, Head of Labor Cooperation at POSCO.
The donation was prepared using the labor-management mutual growth fund jointly established by POSCO labor and management this year. It is planned to be used to support vulnerable groups in the region, such as children-headed households, elderly living alone, and multicultural families.
The POSCO Labor Union is leading the "K-Labor-Management Culture" activities focused on creating a virtuous cycle by returning the expanded social influence gained through conflict resolution and cooperation as partners of the company and local community back to the union members.
Kim Seong-ho, Chairman of the POSCO Labor Union, stated, "The K-Labor-Management Culture is the philosophy of the POSCO Labor Union based on harmoniously realizing the dual values of struggle and coexistence." He added, "Through this, we will achieve mutual growth not only for union members and the company but also for the local community and the South Korean economy." He further said, "The social influence formed as a result will be used again to improve the welfare and rights of union members."
Going forward, the POSCO Labor Union plans to continue playing a leading role in providing fair benefits to union members through this philosophy, securing sustainable growth momentum through cooperation with the company, and creating a better world together with the local community.
Kim Dong-hee, Head of Labor Cooperation at POSCO, said, "Following the 2024 wage negotiations, labor and management jointly established the labor-management mutual growth fund, and I am proud that such a meaningful place was selected as the first use." He added, "I hope the POSCO Labor Union’s K-Labor-Management Culture activities will spread further, creating a society full of care and hope."
Jeong In-hwa, Mayor of Gwangyang, responded, "I am grateful to the POSCO Labor Union for donating despite difficult circumstances to revitalize the local economy and support vulnerable groups in the region, and I hope that POSCO labor and management will continue to harmonize and contribute to the local economy."
