The Ethics Advisory Committee, established to strengthen the ethical awareness of council members and enhance the transparency of council activities, consists of seven experts from academia, the legal field, and various other sectors.
For the next two years, the committee members will serve in an advisory role on matters related to the council's ethics.
During a meeting held after the appointment ceremony, the Ethics Advisory Committee members discussed ways to improve the ethical standards of council activities and shared opinions on how the city council can be reborn as a trusted institution within the local community.
Jo Wonhui, Chairperson of the Daejeon City Council, stated, "With today's appointment ceremony as a starting point, we will further elevate the ethics and responsibility of our city council," and added, "Based on the expertise and experience of our committee members, we will strive to build a council that earns the trust of our citizens."
