NSC Scheduled to be Held
Choi Sang-mok, Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, will begin his schedule on the 27th as the 'Acting President.' This follows the suspension of Prime Minister Han Duck-soo's duties as Acting President due to the National Assembly's approval of the impeachment motion on the same day.
According to Article 26 of the Government Organization Act, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Choi Sang-mok will assume the acting authority.
According to the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Deputy Prime Minister Choi will hold a meeting with Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, then have a phone call with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and issue written instructions to the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, National Defense, and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to handle security and public safety-related schedules.
Once the official copy of the National Assembly's impeachment resolution reaches the Constitutional Court and a copy is delivered to Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, Choi will officially assume the acting authority.
