Starting January Next Year, All Vehicles in Incheon Will Be Prohibited from Idling
Incheon City announced on the 27th that starting from January next year, idling of all vehicles, including two-wheelers, will be completely banned throughout the entire region.
In June, the city amended related ordinances to expand the idling restriction areas across Incheon. However, only Yeongheung-myeon in Ongjin-gun, an island area, was included.
The city also designated existing idling restriction areas such as terminals, parking lots, and multi-use facilities as "priority idling restriction areas" for special management.
The idling restriction applies to two-wheelers such as motorcycles. The idling limit has been tightened from the previous 3 minutes to 2 minutes, and a fine of 50,000 KRW will be imposed if idling continues despite warnings from enforcement officers.
