Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 27th that members of the club "Seulgiroun Munhwasaenghwal" (Director Kim Hye-ju), affiliated with the Shinhan University Lifelong Education Center Alumni Association (President Kim Hyun-sik), donated 2 million KRW and participated in the "100-Day Love Relay Baton Passing" campaign on the 26th.

View original imageSeulgiroun Munhwasaenghwal is a group that promotes cultural activities among alumni. In June, they held a charity event called "A Wonderful Concert" at a cafe in Yangju City to help children suffering from pediatric cancer and leukemia. The concert was successfully completed with performances by the Yangju City Orchestra’s principal cellist Yuh Hanarae and other performers, and the funds raised were donated through this contribution.
Director Kim Hye-ju said, "I am glad that, with the help of the members and President Kim Hyun-sik, we were able to successfully hold the charity concert and donate the proceeds," adding, "We will continue to carry out various charitable activities."
President Kim Hyun-sik also expressed his commitment to contributing to the spread of a culture of sharing, stating, "Our alumni association will work even harder on charitable activities for the local community together with Seulgiroun Munhwasaenghwal."
Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, "I sincerely thank President Kim Hyun-sik and the members of Seulgiroun Munhwasaenghwal for their heartfelt donations to the local community," and added, "The donations will be properly delivered to children receiving treatment amid economic difficulties."

Meanwhile, the city is conducting the "100-Day Love Relay Baton Passing" fundraising campaign from October 21 to January 28 of next year. The collected cash and goods will be used to support low-income families in the area in cooperation with the Community Chest of Korea.
