Samil PwC Launches Global Trade Advisory Team in Preparation for 'Trump 2.0'
Samil PwC announced on the 27th that it has established a Global Trade Solution Center, a dedicated global trade service team, to prepare for the worldwide spread of protectionism and key tariff and trade issues under the second Trump administration. The dedicated team plans to provide a one-stop integrated solution by consolidating and strengthening existing individual services.
The dedicated team consists of about 10 partners who have provided professional advisory services for over 20 years in the fields of trade (tariffs and trade disputes), international taxation, and supply chains. They have offered various advisory services related to corporate tariff and trade issues such as global tariff reduction strategies, transaction structure changes, responses to circumvention exports, local outreach strategies, tax impacts of the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), anti-dumping and safeguard measures, export control consulting, and cross-border deal advisory.
The team also includes international tax experts specializing in transfer pricing, overseas investment, and digital tax (global minimum tax), enabling them to provide clients with consistent and integrated solutions. In particular, the dedicated team plans to closely collaborate with PwC US’s international trade team and global tax policy team, as well as PwC Global’s global rebalancing team based in Singapore, to promptly incorporate policy changes and insights from various countries into corporate advisory services.
Jung Hyun Lee, Head of Tax at Samil PwC, stated, “With the introduction of universal tariffs and increased tariffs on China under the second Trump administration, along with the recently reappointed European Union (EU) Commission’s strengthened ‘Buy European’ policy, protectionist barriers are expected to rise further. Samil PwC will provide strategic and integrated solutions to help domestic companies prepare for uncertainties in the international trade environment and turn survival threats into opportunities.”
