"Differentiated Welfare System Brings Support Closer to Residents"... Implementation of Uljin-type Emergency Welfare Support System
Expansion of Emergency Welfare Support System Starting Next Year
Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, will implement the Uljin-type Emergency Welfare Support System, the first of its kind in Gyeongbuk, starting next year.
Emergency welfare support is a system that quickly provides welfare services such as livelihood, medical, and housing support to low-income households facing sudden crises such as the death, unemployment, or illness of the main income earner, helping them overcome urgent crisis situations.
The Uljin-type Emergency Welfare Support System expands the government-supported income standard from 75% of the median income to 100% of the median income.
For single-person households, those with an income of up to 2,392,013 KRW per month can receive support as crisis households.
The financial asset standard is also raised by about 4 million KRW compared to the government support criteria, allowing an additional 100 crisis households per year to receive support.
Once selected as a beneficiary, emergency livelihood support provides a one-time additional payment of 300,000 KRW per month for single-person households. Emergency medical support can be provided up to a maximum of 3 million KRW.
The county plans to prepare housing support and disaster assistance to respond to a wide range of crisis situations.
