Gyeonggi Economic Agency Attracts 130 Billion KRW Scale 'Semiconductor Advanced Materials' to Poseung District
The Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Authority has attracted a semiconductor advanced materials production facility worth 130 billion KRW to the Pyeongtaek Poseung District.
On the 26th, the Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Authority announced that Handuk Chemical, which produces developer solution (TMAH) for semiconductors and displays, decided to establish a production base in the metropolitan area at Pyeongtaek Poseung District, and signed an investment agreement with Lotte Fine Chemical, Handuk Chemical, and Pyeongtaek City in the conference room on the 8th floor of the Taekhang Marine Center.
According to the agreement, Handuk Chemical will build a TMAH manufacturing facility on a 32,217㎡ (9,746 pyeong) site in Pyeongtaek Poseung District. Construction is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2025, with completion targeted for the second half of 2026.

Handuk Chemical has pledged to contribute to revitalizing the local economy by early establishment of the production facility, operate and manage it as an eco-friendly facility, and make efforts to employ local residents.
Since its establishment in 1995, Handuk Chemical has been producing products at its Ulsan plant, but recently, to respond to the increased semiconductor-related demand from companies such as Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, it has decided to establish a metropolitan production base in Pyeongtaek Poseung District. Handuk Chemical is the only domestic manufacturer of developer solution (TMAH) for semiconductors and has also been selected as a national strategic technology commercialization facility for semiconductors.
Gyeonggi Province expects that this investment will enable smoother supply of core process materials to major semiconductor and display manufacturers in the metropolitan area, contributing to the stabilization of the semiconductor industry supply chain.
