IBK, Scholarship Awards Presented to 658 Children of SME Employees
IBK Industrial Bank announced on the 24th that it has awarded scholarships totaling 1.257 billion KRW to 658 children of small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) workers who are diligently pursuing their studies despite economic difficulties.
At the scholarship award ceremony, representatives from companies employing the families of the scholarship recipients also participated. The selected university students plan to continue giving back by participating in IBK Mentoring, a volunteer program providing academic guidance to underprivileged children.
To improve the welfare of SME workers, IBK established the IBK Happiness Sharing Foundation in 2006 and has supported approximately 13,161 children of SME workers with scholarships totaling 23.7 billion KRW. To date, it has contributed a total of 81.5 billion KRW in resources, leading various social contribution projects.
