Samsung Securities Lists Three New US Dow Jones ETNs
Tracking 1-2 Times and Inversely 2 Times
Samsung Securities newly listed three Exchange Traded Notes (ETNs) tracking the US Dow Jones Index at 1x, 2x, and minus (-) 2x leverage on the 24th.
The newly listed ETNs are ▲Samsung US Dow Jones ETN ▲Samsung Leverage US Dow Jones Futures ETN ▲Samsung Inverse 2X US Dow Jones Futures ETN.
'Samsung US Dow Jones ETN' tracks 30 large-cap blue-chip stocks representing the US economy without tracking error, and all dividends generated from the constituent stocks are fully reinvested in this currency-exposed total return (TR) product.
'Samsung Leverage US Dow Jones Futures ETN' and 'Samsung Inverse 2X US Dow Jones Futures ETN' track the daily returns of the E-mini Dow futures listed on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) at positive 2x and negative 2x multiples respectively, without tracking error. Interest on held cash is calculated based on the US short-term bond (3-Month US Treasury Bill) in this currency-exposed total return product.
The management fees (expenses) are 0.0% per annum for 'Samsung US Dow Jones ETN', 0.8% per annum for 'Samsung Leverage US Dow Jones Futures ETN', and 0.8% per annum for 'Samsung Inverse 2X US Dow Jones Futures ETN'. These ETN products mature on December 11, 2034, and can be traded until December 7, 2034.
The US Dow Jones Index is composed of 30 large-cap blue-chip stocks representing the US economy. As of the 22nd of last month, the top constituents of the US Dow Jones Index include Goldman Sachs (8.3%), UnitedHealth (8.2%), Home Depot (5.8%), Microsoft (5.7%), and Caterpillar (5.5%).
Samsung Securities ETNs are issued based on various underlying assets such as domestic and international stocks and commodities. According to Bloomberg, Samsung Securities ETNs held a market share (M/S) of 63.8% in cumulative trading volume as of the 18th in 2024.
To invest in leveraged ETPs, investors must deposit a basic margin according to conditions, complete pre-education on leveraged ETPs at the Korea Financial Investment Association, and register the completion of pre-education with the brokerage firm. ETNs are products with very high risk ratings, so investors should confirm their investment propensity before investing and be aware of the risk of principal loss.

Meanwhile, Samsung Securities is also running an event until February 14 next year, where prizes are given by lottery based on the net purchase amount of eligible ETNs during the event period in a brokerage-type ISA account. Depending on the net purchase amount in each tier, participants can receive up to a 30,000 KRW mobile gift voucher. Eligible products include 'Samsung KRX Gold Spot ETN', 'Samsung S&P500 ETN', 'Samsung Nasdaq 100 ETN', 'Samsung Hang Seng Tech ETN(H) B', and 'Samsung Japan Nikkei225 Futures ETN(H)'.
