Chosun University Successfully Holds 'Seongwagongyuhwe' for Digital Saessak Donggodongrak

View original imageChosun University (President Kim Choonseong) announced on the 24th that it successfully held the '2024 Chosun DongGoDongRak Digital Saessak' performance sharing event.
The Digital Saessak project, held on the 17th at Ramada Plaza Gwangju Hotel, is organized by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity. It aims to provide software (SW) and artificial intelligence (AI) education opportunities to elementary, middle, and high school students in the Honam and Jeju regions, and to reduce the digital education gap.
About 60 participants attended the performance sharing event, including Go Dohyun, Manager at Witches; Park Deokhwa, CEO of Palchilgusam; Kim Hobum, Superintendent at Jeonnam Office of Education; Noh Junghyun, Superintendent at Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education; and Wi Geonuk, Supervisor, among others.
During the event, appreciation was expressed to those who contributed to the promotion of digital education. The following were recognized: ▲Chosun University President's Appreciation Plaque (Go Dohyun, Manager at Witches; Park Deokhwa, CEO of Palchilgusam; Yoon Sera, CEO of Edunet) ▲AI·SW Education Center Director's Certificate of Appreciation awarded to teachers Shin Hyesun (Yangsan Middle School), Jung Jihoon (Nongseong Elementary School), Kim Daeyeon (Gyesu Elementary School), Jang Hanseong (Gyesu Elementary School), Lee Jiwon (Daechon Jungang Elementary School), and Palchilgusam teachers Kim Seongwan, Kim Okyeong, Kim Sujin, Jung Geumsuk, and Lim Seonjin.
Since 2017, the Chosun University AI·SW Education Center has been collaborating with education offices and local governments to promote AI·SW education in the community. Programs include: ▲SW Instructor Training Course for university students ▲Visiting Coding Class for elementary students ▲Coding Class with Mom and Dad for parents ▲Visiting Intellectual Property Academy for students at local children's centers.
In recognition of these contributions, Professor Cho Youngju of the Chosun University AI·SW Education Center received a commendation from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education in 2023.
Professor Byun Jaeyoung, head of the center, stated, "The Chosun University AI·SW Education Center has laid an important foundation for preparing for future digital education through the Digital Saessak project this year," and added, "We will continue to provide diverse AI·SW education opportunities to students in the Honam and Jeju regions and strive to minimize the digital education gap."
