Park Jung-seok, Chairman of Goryeo Shipping, Appointed as New President of Korea Shipping Association
Park Jung-seok, chairman of Korea Shipping Co., Ltd., has been appointed as the new president of the Korea Shipping Association.
On the 23rd, the Korea Shipping Association announced that it held a board meeting on the 20th and unanimously appointed Chairman Park as the new president of the association.
Chairman Park graduated from the College of Engineering at Seoul National University and worked at Ssangyong Cement Group Coordination Office and Ssangyong Securities London Office. He officially entered the shipping industry in 1992 when he joined KCTC.
He was appointed CEO of Korea Shipping Co., Ltd. in 2007 and served as the 3rd chairman of the Korea Shipowners Mutual Insurance Association in 2016. After becoming the chairman of the Korea Shipping Association's Maritime Affairs Committee in 2019, he led a labor-management agreement for the first time in 15 years to innovate Korean seafarers' jobs and maintain national economic security.

The Korea Shipping Association plans to hold its regular general meeting on January 16 next year at the Shipping Building in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, to appoint the new president.
