The province plans to designate additional no-parking and no-stopping zones on the 1100 Road for traffic safety, and to increase the number of closed-circuit television (CCTV) enforcement devices for parking violations. The no-parking and no-stopping zones cover a total of 6.4 km in both directions: 1.7 km from the 1100 Highland Rest Area toward Yeongsilgyo in the Jeju City direction, 4.4 km toward the Yeongsil entrance in the Seogwipo City direction, and 0.3 km around the Eorimok entrance in Jeju City.
Jeju Province is promoting the enforcement by installing banners and signs around the 1100 Road. In particular, considering the high proportion of rental cars among illegally parked vehicles, information is also being provided through the rental car industry.
To maintain traffic safety and order, the province plans to deploy municipal enforcement teams and autonomous police officers to the no-parking and no-stopping zones. For the prevention of accidents, guidance and enforcement will be carried out in cooperation with the autonomous police, Hallasan National Park Management Office, and municipal parking enforcement teams, focusing on traffic safety and order along the 1100 Road and access control in national forest areas.
Kim Taewan, Director of the Transportation and Aviation Bureau, stated, "The enforcement against illegal parking and stopping on the 1100 Road is an unavoidable measure to secure traffic safety and prevent accidents," and urged, "We ask for the active cooperation of residents and tourists, and encourage the use of public transportation."
