Goyang-si Provides Up to 3 Million KRW in Medical Expense Support for 'High-Risk Pregnant Women'
Full Out-of-Pocket and 90% Support for Non-Covered Medical Expenses
Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 23rd that it will provide partial financial support for medical expenses to high-risk pregnant women diagnosed with high-risk pregnancy diseases and hospitalized for treatment.
The 'High-Risk Pregnant Women Medical Expense Support Project' is a program promoted to reduce the economic burden on pregnant women and help ensure healthy childbirth, as the frequency of high-risk pregnancies increases due to factors such as the rise in multiple pregnancies from assisted reproductive procedures.
The support targets pregnant women diagnosed with 19 types of high-risk pregnancy diseases, including multiple pregnancies, preterm labor, delivery hemorrhage, and severe preeclampsia, who have been hospitalized for treatment. Applications must be submitted within six months from the date of delivery.
The support covers 100% of the out-of-pocket hospitalization treatment costs and 90% of non-reimbursable medical expenses, up to a maximum of 3 million KRW.
Applications can be made by visiting the public health center in charge of the applicant's registered residence or online through the e-Health Center. Required documents for application include a medical diagnosis certificate, medical expense receipts, and detailed medical expense statements.
