Daecheong Dam Certification Center to Dong-gu Biryeong Samgeori 28.8km Section
Daejeon City announced that the Daecheonghosuro, also known as Chudong-gil, has been selected as one of the “Top 60 Free Bicycle Travel Courses” by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The Free Bicycle Travel Courses have been selected by the Ministry since May this year to discover various bicycle routes connecting to local tourist attractions, with the aim of revitalizing local tourism and the regional economy.
The Daecheonghosuro course stretches 28.8 kilometers, starting from the Daecheong Dam Certification Center, passing through the Daedeok-gu Lohas Family Park Camping Site, and ending at the Dong-gu Biryeong Samgeori. It is widely known among citizens as Chudong-gil, a representative healing spot in the area.
The city is currently improving the Daecheonghosuro road for both bicycles and pedestrians, and it is expected that not only cycling enthusiasts but also ordinary citizens and tourists visiting the region will be able to travel more safely and conveniently in the future.
In addition, the city is planning to develop bicycle travel programs in connection with the Geumgang National Bicycle Route.
Kim Jongmyeong, Director of the Daejeon City Railroad Construction Bureau, said, “We are pleased that the selection of Daecheonghosuro will allow us to promote our region, including Daecheonghosuro, both domestically and internationally. The increase in visitors and the resulting boost in tourism consumption will also help increase residents’ income.”
