Vehicle Control DX Solution 'U+Connect' Launched... Targeting B2B Market
U+ Vehicle Control Service Advancement and Addition of Vehicle-Specific Features
User Driving Information and Vehicle Status Self-Diagnosis Management
Industry-Specific Specialized Features... For Cargo, Door Opening Detection
LG Uplus announced on the 22nd that it will launch the vehicle management digital transformation (DX) solution 'U+Connect'. U+Connect is a service that enhances the existing 'U+ Vehicle Management Service' by improving location accuracy and adding specialized functions tailored to vehicle purposes.
By attaching an Internet of Things (IoT) device to the vehicle and operating it, users can check and manage driving information, vehicle self-diagnosis, cost management such as maintenance and fuel expenses, automatic driving log creation, and dispatch status in real-time on PCs or smartphones.
The collected information is analyzed and provided to users as economic driving and safe driving reports. The reports are based on indicators such as speeding, sudden braking, rapid acceleration, rapid deceleration, and idling. Through this, it is expected that vehicle management such as improving driving habits, enhancing fuel efficiency, and reducing carbon emissions will become possible.
Additionally, the system is built to automatically generate and transmit information that must be submitted to institutions such as the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, the National Tax Service, and the Korea Environment Corporation.
LG Uplus aims to target the FMS business, which is regarded as a new market in the business-to-business (B2B) sector. FMS is an integrated system used by companies to efficiently manage assets such as vehicles.
According to the global market research firm Research and Markets, the vehicle management system market size has been increasing at an average annual rate of 10.5% since last year and is expected to reach $43.1 billion (approximately 57.5 trillion KRW) by 2028.
This vehicle management solution also includes industry-specific specialized functions. By utilizing LG Uplus's proprietary ultra-precise positioning technology (RTK), vehicle locations can be tracked in real-time at centimeter-level accuracy, allowing users to check the arrival times of freight trucks and driving information of rental cars and buses.
Furthermore, customized additional services using IoT technology are provided, such as cargo compartment temperature and door opening detection (freight and logistics), passenger boarding and alighting confirmation (taxi and bus), and digital keys (rental cars).
LG Uplus plans to support stable B2B services by providing more than 20% additional data compared to the industry average at the same price and building data transmission cycles at one-second intervals.
