Year-End Party with Staff at Mugyodong Restaurant... Visit to Cheonggyecheon 'Seoul Light Lantern Festival' Site to Encourage Tourist Visits
Choi Ho-jeong, Chairperson of the Seoul Metropolitan Council, held a year-end party on the 18th at a restaurant in Mugyo-dong with the council's administrative staff to support small business owners.
Chairperson Choi stated, "Having frequently visited the field, I realized that the difficulties faced by self-employed individuals and small business owners are much greater than we had imagined." She added, "One citizen running a store told me it feels as if they are completely isolated from the world, which is very tough. I believe now is the time for the public sector to actively step up, so I personally took the initiative to encourage the year-end party."
On this day, Chairperson Choi also spoke with and encouraged the restaurant owner. She said, "For now, I will support increasing sales through encouraging year-end parties. Additionally, I will continue to visit the field to ensure that the Small Business Support Project promoted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government is working well on-site, address any shortcomings, and create tangible changes that small business owners can feel."
After the meal, Chairperson Choi visited the site of the '2024 Seoul Lantern Festival' held nearby at Cheonggyecheon Stream.
She warmly greeted citizens and foreign tourists present at the site and promoted the festival, asking them to spread the word.
Chairperson Choi said, "As winter approaches, the Seoul Winter Festa, which citizens and tourists can enjoy with all five senses, is taking place in various locations. Please enjoy the festival safely and with peace of mind in safe Seoul."
