[Photo] NGO Hepper Korea Holds 'Saenggye Sodeuk' Campaign at Gwanghwamun
To improve the livelihood income and help escape poverty for impoverished farming households worldwide, the NGO Heifer Korea, which teaches "how to catch fish rather than giving fish," is conducting a livelihood income campaign by distributing Bungeoppang near Gwanghwamun, Seoul, to spread the value of sharing. Heifer International, an international development nonprofit organization that carries out livestock and agricultural technology transfer projects for the economic independence of poor farming households worldwide, supported South Korea with 3,200 livestock, 1.5 million honeybees, and agricultural technology from the Korean War until the mid-1970s. Established in 2020, Heifer Korea repays the help it once received from Heifer by supporting 101 Korean-style dairy cows and dairy experts to Nepal and building a Korea-Nepal pilot dairy village to carry out support projects.
