Pocheon City Successfully Concludes 2024 Resident Autonomy Contest
Yeongjung-myeon Resident Autonomy Association Wins Grand Prize
Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 19th that it successfully completed the 2024 Pocheon City Resident Autonomy Competition on the 17th at the Pocheon City Hall main conference room.

View original imageThe 2024 Resident Autonomy Competition was organized to share the achievements made throughout the year in promoting resident autonomy and to reward those who contributed to the formation of local communities.
About 200 people attended the event, including Kim Do-gyeom, President of the Resident Autonomy Federation, chairpersons and members of resident autonomy committees from each eup, myeon, and dong. Attendees shared the results of various activities led by local residents.
On this day, 27 people including Song Yong-gyu, Chairman of the Seondan-dong Resident Autonomy Committee, received the Pocheon Mayor’s Commendation; 14 people including Jo Yuk-hyung, member of the Shinbuk-myeon Resident Autonomy Committee, received the Pocheon City Council Chairman’s Commendation; 14 people including Yeon Je-wan, Senior Vice Chairman of the Hwacheon-myeon Resident Autonomy Committee, received the National Assembly Member’s Commendation; and 14 people including Kim Gye-gyeong, Secretary General of the Ildong-myeon Resident Autonomy Committee, received the Resident Autonomy Federation President’s Commendation.
In the subsequent competition, each resident autonomy committee presented cases of activities reflecting local characteristics. Yeongjung-myeon Resident Autonomy Committee won the Grand Prize, Gasan-myeon won the Excellence Award, and Shinbuk-myeon and Changsu-myeon won Encouragement Awards, recognizing their efforts so far.
The Yeongjung-myeon Resident Autonomy Committee, which won the Grand Prize, is scheduled to represent Pocheon City at next year’s Gyeonggi Province Resident Autonomy Best Practices Competition.
