HMM Selected as a Family-Friendly Certified Company by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family
HMM has been selected as a family-friendly certified company by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.
On the 19th, HMM announced that it received the certification at the '2024 Family-Friendly Certification and Government Awards Ceremony' held the previous day at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jung-gu, Seoul.
The family-friendly certification is a government certification issued to exemplary companies and public institutions that operate family-friendly systems such as support for childbirth and child-rearing, flexible working hours, and the creation of a family-friendly workplace culture. Selection is made through document review, on-site inspection, employee satisfaction surveys, and evaluation by the Family-Friendly Certification Committee.
HMM has introduced flexible commuting hours with free choice of start and end times, half-day leave in 2-hour increments, reduced working hours for pregnant employees and parents, and telecommuting for pregnant employees. In addition to the statutory parental leave, employees can take up to one additional year of parental leave for child-rearing. HMM also provides infant care services through contracts with specialized companies.
